Rabbi Evan Moffic - "First the Jews", July 21st - 4:00pm

Rabbi Moffic is the author of: "What every Christian Needs to Know about the Jewishness of Jesus", "What every Christian Needs to Know about Passover" and "The Happiness Prayer."

We are hosting this program on July 21st because on the Hebrew calendar it is the day the walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Romans and slaughtered in 70 Common Era, a day of mourning and a semi-fast day for the Jewish people where no food or water are consumed. It seems like the right time to talk about anti-Semitism.

First the Jews traces the history of anti-Semitism and explains why the Jewish people are often the 'canary in the coal mine'---the first to be targeted by violence that soon spreads to others.

Written after the riot in Charlottesville and the murders at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, this book explains the modern rise of anti-Semitism by looking at its historical roots.

Rabbi Moffic will bring copies of his new book for purchase and autograph
